KÖNIG MEXICO CITY is proud to present I’m Just Here for the Pool, a compelling solo exhibition by the Berlin-based artist and curator Amir Fattal.
The exhibition is scheduled to welcome the public starting tomorrow, February 4, 2026, and will conclude its run on March 15, 2026.
Through this new body of work, Fattal deepens his ongoing investigation into the role of artificial intelligence as both a creative tool and a cultural mirror that exposes our collective obsessions with taste, status, and identity.
Fattal, who has spent the last four years living part-time in Mexico City, draws profound inspiration from the local landscape of modernist architecture.
The influence of Luis Barragán is particularly palpable, reflected in the geometric clarity and emotional restraint that define the exhibition's visual language.
These paintings function as imagined memories of aspirational environments, featuring sun-drenched villas and tranquil courtyards that seem to oscillate between the physical world, the artifice of cinema, and the curated perfection of a social media feed.
At the heart of the exhibition is Fattal’s innovative concept of “Post Artificial Painting,” a process that bridges the gap between the algorithmic and the archival.

Each work begins in the digital realm, where Fattal uses specific prompts to summon fictional portraits from the "collective unconscious" of AI data.
Once these digital visions are captured, he applies traditional oil painting techniques to the canvas, meticulously bringing these non-existent figures into the physical world.
