Renowned artist  odarka pisna from Ukraine recently shared insights into the profound philosophy behind their artwork during an exclusive interview.

Known for their unique approach, blending elements of nature, spirituality, and energy, odarka delves into the deeper meanings and inspirations that drive their creative process. The conversation covered a range of topics, including their work with minerals, the connection between art and life, and the evolution of their artistic journey amidst the backdrop of global change.

A Philosophy Rooted in Nature and Energy When asked about the essence of their work, [Name] explained that their art is not just about creating pictures—it’s about conveying a philosophy. "This is not just a picture,"  odarka emphasized. "It’s about the energy you feel inside and the message I want to share with you through my work. I want to show how we, as humans, are deeply interconnected with nature and the elements around us." In addition to their artistic practice, odarka is also a spiritual guide who teaches others to connect with the natural energies of minerals. Through practices involving meditation and energy work, they help others tap into the transformative power of the earth’s elements. "I work with minerals and guide people in understanding the energy they can feel from stones. For me, this is a spiritual practice, as I believe each mineral holds unique healing energy."

The artist shared that their work is often an expression of the different phases of life, drawing on the symbolic representations of elements such as fire and water. "Sometimes, I feel like fire—strong and protective. Other times, I feel like water—fluid and nurturing, like a woman who can create and sustain life," odarka reflected. Their creations are inspired by both the transient and eternal aspects of existence. "Life is like a flower," they explained, "it blooms beautifully for a moment, but eventually fades. But that brief moment of beauty is everything. This is what my art seeks to capture—the fleeting yet powerful beauty of life."

Art and the Impact of War

In the course of their conversation, the topic of the ongoing war in Ukraine came up.  odarka discussed how the war has deeply affected their work and the Ukrainian art community as a whole. "The war has changed everything. Artists are no longer able to create from the same place of joy or peace. We now create from a place of fear, anger, and loss,"  she expressed. "Art reflects life, and right now, that life is filled with uncertainty and sorrow." Living in exile in Italy,  she has been deeply affected by the displacement of their family and the destruction of their homeland. "I live in both Italy and Ukraine. I spend two months in Italy, two months in Ukraine, but it is dangerous to be in Ukraine now. The war is constant, and the bombings are near. Life is no longer the same," they said. Despite the challenges,  artist believes that art has the power to heal and transform. "Art is about the soul, and as artists, we must continue to create. We must show the world what we feel and what we have lost."

Looking ahead, odarka is optimistic about the future of their work. With plans to return to Venice for another biennale and showcase their art in Europe, they believe that their use of minerals and stones will continue to resonate with audiences. "The power of nature—stones, minerals, and the elements—is becoming more understood and valued. Nature is our most precious resource, and through my art, I hope to convey its importance,"  odarka said.

Final Thoughts: Art as a Bridge Between Commercial and Social Responsibility

Reflecting on the balance between the commercial aspects of the art market and the social responsibility of artists, odraka shared their perspective. "Art should never just be about selling. It’s about connection. When an artist sells a piece, they should be able to explain its meaning, its soul. Without that connection, it’s just a transaction. Art is much more than that."

In a world where the commercial value of art often dictates its success, odarka believes that true art transcends financial transactions. "The value of art is not just in its price, but in its ability to touch hearts, to inspire change, and to connect people to the deeper energies of life."
