capitalculturehouse (https://capitalculturehouse.org/ ) which is in spain hold an art fair booth Hall 3 Booth 3-27 SBA SETEC Exhibition Hall south korea from 7th of August to 10th

the person shovel met in a bank art fair 2025 south korea,  Augusto Mendoza , a founder of capital culture house and and conduct a interview with him,

Q1. tell me about your gallery in spain with a full name

Augusto : Our gallery is called Capital Culture House from Spain. And it's going to be our second year in Korea, so we are investigating Asian markets because we think that Asia in general, our markets are getting very strong around the world. And it's a place that is unexplored for Western societies. So we are happy to be, we are in this art fair, the only Western gallery  (europe) and we are happy be here

Q2: the difference between korean gallery and capital culture house

Augusto : more than  90%  of galleries are local, but that's why we are marking the difference here. We are the contrast.  We tried to make a contrast and to surprise the markets. That's why we brought a lot of power and colors in most of the pieces in order to surprise the.

Q3: How do you think of the art industry? Is it moving forward in the right way? Is it more becoming as a profitable tool for people ?

Augusto: Yes, actually art business is increasing per year. Every year is getting bigger because it doesn't matter the economic crisis. I mean economic crisis are the biggest redistribution of wealth because wealth doesn't disappear and as art it's a luxurious product anyways. It's going good for everyone and we're very happy.

To elaborate a bit more,  When I speak about redistribution of wealth, is that crisis like COVID or the current wars in Europe that are giving economic crisis. People that buy art, people with money, you know, are normally people very  creative in business. So in this kind of uncertainty.

Q4: how was the covid pandemic period did mean to your gallery?

Augusto: Yes, pandemic or any economic crisis. So they are normally able to get richer, to get wealthier in the crisis and that is very good for the people that sell art because they are also building our business with more buying and increasing the market.

Q5: Please describe the characteristics of the paintings brought to this exhibition bank art fair 2025

Augusto:  Well, we are focused in the multiculturalism and the melting pot of countries and styles. We always work with some locals, but depending on the project with the team of curators, we bring a list that we think is going to shock and interest the public of each location.

Q6: How does the art market in Spain, as you said, you just explained more about the art market in Spain. How they adveritse art , galleries, painters... so on,

Augusto: Well, actually the art market in Spain is in a reborn right now. It's in a new age because after the big crisis in 2008 that hit Spain very hard, it took more than 10 years to recover, but now it's expanding very much. So many artists are starting to sell and Spain is starting to open to foreigners too.

A figurative artist is very strong in Spain right now.

Q7: tell me about yourself , and gallery's busniess plan through overseas including asian markets

Augusto: Yeah, I majored  in fine arts. So as this is a passion and I really like to help people to, you know, to make their home more valuable, more beautiful, you know, and sharing this passion, I found that the most logic way was to start in a gallery. And as I love different cultures personally, that's because our gallery travels all around the world.  moreover, our gallery has been five years, it's half a decade already and it's going very good. We are doing ten international projects per year. So roughly every 40 days we are in a different country, in a different project.

so far we are participating for the second year in the Bank Art Fair in Seoul and we are thinking to next years to expand our market here to be in other art fairs.

Well, first of all, Bank Art Fair has good marketing tool because it brings a lot of visitors and normally we have a lot of sales. We sold many pieces last year and for sure this year will be the same.

Q8: tell me about korean artists that you feel

Augusto:  Well, what I can tell about Korean artists is that it's very strong in what is the little details, you know, high technique in the details. and a lot of naive art, naive art and pop. this kind of art is starting to impose a new trend in Europe i guess.

Q9: do you think also asian market opening to western style of art?

Augusto: yes it is, The West is opening to this kind of Asian art. It's being collected now a lot in Europe and the United States. And we're having actually the first artist from Europe and United States doing Asian style with naive art.

Q10: How do you think of the US market?

Augusto: Well, New York is new york.  it's still occupying the 30 %of the art transactions in the whole planet. and we're speaking just of manhattan, new york.

Q11: Why do you think U.S is strong nin art market?

Augusto: Well, the United States has been built in migration, business and liberty. So that, I mean, all the refugees from the Second World War, you know, creatives, have gone to New York, the majority of them. So that's why now New York has a, you know, it's the mentality of Americans. North Americans have the mentality of business. So all of that together has made New York what it is now.

Q12: What is their mentality of business you put more on that when it comes to the art?

Augusto: Americans are not afraid of money, not afraid of speaking of it, not afraid of getting it,  They don't think much in any cultural habits or things that stop them to do business,  So as they are so open and they welcome everyone who wants to be in art business and make a qucik decision.

Q13:  What does art mean to you so far,

Augusto: With art you bring beauty. You bring immortal beauty for home. So that gives a different value. Any other product will go away, will disappear or will be eaten. You have to change it if it's technology. But art is not, its forever.
