LAHEEN Gallery is hosting Where Hue Is Folded, a solo exhibition by Cheon Mijin that reimagines color as a dynamic, multi-dimensional entity rather than a static element on a flat surface.
In this exhibition, the concept of "folding" refers not to literal creases on a canvas, but to the moment color breaks free from two-dimensional boundaries to create a vivid sense of depth and distance.
By prioritizing process over a finalized image, the showcase highlights how color continuously constructs spatial relationships as it interacts with physical media and structural frameworks.
Within Cheon’s practice, structure functions as a dynamic guide that shapes how materials and pigments interact. Instead of relying on pre-mixed, fixed tones, the artist layers primary colors, transparent washes, varying densities, and calculated intervals, allowing them to overlap and seep into one another.

Cheon extends this painterly inquiry into three-dimensional sculptures and immersive installations.
